Welcome to Another Edition of the Traffic Systems Inc. Newsletter!

Welcome to Summer 2013!  We are looking forward to warm weather and good traffic conditions after the harsh winter we all endured this past season.

Traffic Systems is proud to be celebrating our 20th anniversary this year!  With so many innovations occurring in traffic technology, we look forward to seeing what the next 20 years will bring.

As this newsletter goes “to press” we are most likely seeing many of you in person at ITS-NY Saratoga.  We wish to say congratulations to ITS-NY on their 20th anniversary as well. Seems like 1993 was a very good year.

Vice President

Introducing...VariableSpeed Limit™ Signs from Information Display Company

Information Display Company is recognized as the industry leader for quality, durability and service. Our intelligent electronic LED traffic displays consistently outperform any other brand on the market, and drivers quickly recognize and respect our fully FHWA MUTCD-compliant signs.

The IDC product line includes warning, regulatory and guide signs, traffic speed and volume data collection/reporting, and flashing beacon alert systems.
All products are powered via battery, AC, or solar. Our modular design allows easy repair in the field, and all products are backed by our industry-leading three-year product warranty and 10 year warranty for LEDs.

IDC VariableSpeed Limit™ signs are ideal for changing speed limits to address traffic safety concerns. Speed limits are changed in real time to respond to changing road conditions, congestion or accidents. They also are used in school and work zones, changing using our SchedulePro™ software.

Superior Visibility. Our exclusive UltraClear™ mechanical design achieves the highest possible contrast in all lighting conditions. Our full-matrix 18-inch digits are designed at full display height, using 100% white LEDs on a black background for positive contrast as recommended by MUTCD. The white LEDs provide a uniform white display, and are not in conflict with the sign face color, regardless of illumination.
Lowest Power Draw.  At 28 watts or less, solar power is a viable option. Our solar powered signs are designed by location and application, and are backed by a 24/7/365 guarantee.
Communications. Our NTCIP-compatible controller integrates seamlessly with your TMC, and supports sign radio communication to link to the median.

2013 Technical Seminar and Vendor Showcase a Success

Traffic Systems, Inc wishes to thank everyone who participated in its 2013 Technical Seminar and Vendor Showcase. The event took place at venues in Rocky Hill, CT, Newtown, MA and Warwick, RI on three consecutive days in April. It included presentations from Traffic Systems staff about the use of Sensys Networks wireless in-pavement detection technology and the High
Sierra Electronics weather systems equipment; and from manufacturer representatives for Intelight Intelligent Traffic Solutions, Encom Wireless Data Solutions and Coval Systems ITS Software Solutions.

The combination of attendees from the various departments of transportation and other agencies, municipalities and consultants created some excellent dialogue and a free exchange of ideas. Please contact Traffic Systems at 631-242-4292 if you would like to participate in a future seminar or if you would like to host a presentation by us for any or all of our products at your office or alternate location.
